If i get cold sores but don’t have an outbreak but perform oral sex will she get genital herpes?

If i have HSV1 and get cold sores every now and again but i don’t have a cold sore at the time and perform oral sex on my girlfriend will she get HSV2 genital herpes? Or do i have to have a cold sore at the time for the virus to spread? I am afraid to perform oral sex on her because i don’t want to give her HSV2.

    you are right to avoid oral sex. you start shedding the virus for at least a week before a lesion appears, so basically you never know when you are contagious and when you are not. People with oral herpes should always avoid giving oral sex.

    It’s safer to give oral sex when you don’t have any signs or symptoms of an out break. Oral herpes is very contagious while you have any signs of an out break.
    It doesn’t technically cause HSV2 but oral herpes (cold sores) on the genitals. But any type of herpes that occurs on the genitals gets called genital herpes.
