So could u pass on hsv2 by a hand job? ?

just curious. I had h for like six years. two break outs that was very small. I’ve been on valtrex since I found out. only missed a handful of days taken the med in like over five years. I don’t think u can give it to someone with a hand job mayb oral sex. I know a lot about the virus just want more details.

    It is highly unlikely herpes can be passed by a hand job. It is possible to transmit herpes through oral sex if right before an outbreak and during an outbreak if the sores are present either on the mouth or the genitals.

    According to the CDC (http://www.cdc.gov/std/Herpes/STDFact-Herpes.htm):
    HSV-1 and HSV-2 can be found in and released from the sores that the viruses cause, but they also are released between outbreaks from skin that does not appear to have a sore. Generally, a person can only get HSV-2 infection during sexual contact with someone who has a genital HSV-2 infection. Transmission can occur from an infected partner who does not have a visible sore and may not know that he or she is infected.

    HSV-1 can cause genital herpes, but it more commonly causes infections of the mouth and lips, so-called “fever blisters.” HSV-1 infection of the genitals can be caused by oral-genital or genital-genital contact with a person who has HSV-1 infection. Genital HSV-1 outbreaks recur less regularly than genital HSV-2 outbreaks.

    NO. You’re unlikely to pass herpes on by just giving hand jobs, herpes doesn’t last for more then seconds when it’s out side of the body. Herpes likes direct skin contact like kissing, having oral sex or rubbing your genitals together during intercourse.
    Since you have been taking valtrex that should make you less likely to pass herpes on. It can suppress break outs and reduce your chances of shedding the virus in between break outs.
    You’re also not likely to pass it during oral sex. If you give oral sex you’re not going to pass it unless you have herpes on your mouth (cold sores, they are caused by oral herpes). It’s rare but genital herpes can be passed from the genitals to your partners mouth during oral sex. But it’s more likely to happen while you have a break out.
