How do you tell someone you have herpes?

I have genital herpes and warts. I have been dating this guy for 3 months now and we have come close to having sex. I always push him away and haven’t given him a reason for not having sex. I really think I am in love with this man but am too embarassed to tell him the truth. I am scared that he will leave me if I tell him however, I will not have sex with him until I tell him my situation. Please help me figure out how I approach this with him.

    you should merry the man from which you acquired herpes. don’t transmit it to other guys it is a VERY bad thing

    Jean at least your being smart and not infecting him you have to be honest and have all your information ready because if he does not know anything about herpes it will take you to educate him if he is going t stay in this relationship

    You are going to have to be honest with him and the sooner the better. Many partners of herpes patients never get the disease. You are only infectious when you have open lesions. As long as your partner uses a condom and you have no facial lesions you should be OK. You could talk to your doctor about getting pregnant or having babies with herpes. It can be done. If this guy really loves you he will overcome this barrier and stay with you.

    it’s hard but have a private conversation with them and tell them the truth. You may also want to do a little research on herpes before you tell him so you can inform him too. Some people don’t know much about herpes and what they don’t know can scare them off. You may also want to tell your partner not to tell any one else. No one can tell you how some one will react when you tell them that news. But if he does leave you then you don’t want to be with him, he will only be constantly worried about getting herpes from you.
    You don’t have to marry the person that gave you herpes, if you’re not happy with them then don’t feel obligated to stay with them.

    Make sure you tell all current and past sexual partners that you have genital herpes and warts, since you could have infected them. You may find this difficult to do, but it is very important to do so that those infected can get treated before more serious health problems occur.

    I know this guy that has herpes and he never has a problem finding some hot girl in any bar he walks into. He never tells them he has herpes. In a way I blame him and in a way I don’t blame him because if I were in that same situation it would be tough. I mean I wouldn’t want somebody giving me herpes when they knew they were going to give it to me and weren’t considerate enough to tell me so I could decide. I am sure my friend is thinking that nobody told him before he got it. There is a high probability that a person will dump you rather than get herpes and then he will tell everyone you have it (how embarrassing for everybody to know that). I don’t know what to tell you on this one. Look at other animals though (not humans). Do you think that they care about herpes or any sexual diseases that may be in their animal species before they get it on? I don’t think so. There is a very negative stigma about STD’s in our human culture which is purely psychological. There is nothing wrong with having herpes I suppose. It is just a blister that appears every few months just like a flu or common cold. Imagine if there were certain people that never got the flu then humans would form a negative stigma about people that caught the flu and then the flu would cause similar stigma to the stigma that herpes causes.

    Did the person that gave you herpes tell you that he had herpes before he gave it to you? Let me aks you something. Why should you tell him? It is not you who is not fair….life is not fair. Since you are so concerned about it though then you better either break up with him until you develop into a more heartless person or just tell him so he can leave you now and then after you have a few more guys leave you after telling them you will give up on thinking about telling them.

    If you are really good in bed I don’t think that it will matter much whether you have herpes or not.
