Unprotected Sex with HSV2?

I am in a monogamous relationship and I want to have a baby. I have been taking Valtrex daily for 2 years and havent had an outbreak since I’ve been taking them. My question is has anyone out there successfully taken valtrex for some time and still has not infected their partner when having unprotected sex?

    It is possible to have not infected someone YET. There will always be that chance. Your husband is aware and comfortable with your virus. As a couple, you have to decide what to do. Just remember, there will always be a chance of transmittal even while on treatment.

    In your mind you better be comfortable with your partner getting infected. They should know about it. Good luck with the baby, I’m sure it will happen.

    Yes, it happens. Depends on several factors. One you can usually tell when an outbreak is coming on. During this time don’t have sex. (tingling) Also, some peoples skin is such that it makes it harder for them to get HSV.

    One thing to remember if you do get preg. is to tell your doctor. A baby could very easily die from either HSV 1 or 2. A C-section might be the safest way to go.

    FYI, you or your partner should never use exfollients like items containing pumis. These will weaken the skins natural defenses. Also never use steroids. Either topical or oral. Topical like corticosteriods (cortizone) weaken your immune system and can cause outbreak and spread.

    Good Luck and be very careful. Make sure your partner knows of the risks and that you have it. Otherwise he may never forgive you.

    first your partner needs to be fully aware you have the hsv and he must be aware that he can contract it with unprotected sex and agree the decision should be very thought out but you can still have children you could have the baby vaginal but if there is an out break present you will have to have a c-section. but to your question you can still infect your partner while on valtrex, valtrex suppresses outbreaks you spread herpes through your vaginal secretions.
