would you say that HSV1 is an STD?

I’ve done some research and found out that HSV1 orally is not an STD is this correct because I had a cold sore when I was a child and so have many of my friends (I’ve only had sex once and wore a condom + she said she was clean and never had a cold sore in either region)

    HSV1 is not a STD, however giving oral sex with an active cold sore could lead to genital herpes and so is not advised!

    Cold sores on the mouth are not considered to be an std. They can be passed on with out having any thing to do with oral sex or intercourse. In fact herpes is very rarely passed to the mouth from having oral sex. But they can be passed to the genitals during oral sex, if some one with a cold sore gives you oral sex.
    If she didn’t have any signs of a break out or cold sores and you wore a condom then you won’t be likely to get herpes from her.
