how do you kiss a new/multiple partner(s) when you have coldsores/hsv1?

    Well, first off, coldsores are fairly common. I know that they are technically called “herpes”, but it doesn’t necessarily denote someone who is promiscuous. Children can get coldsores from sharing a straw, etc. You can’t really know if someone has hsv1, unless they have a visible outbreak on their mouth. Many people who have it would never think that it’s a problem either. So you take your chances when you kiss someone. Try to remember that the worst thing that happens from hsv1 is the ocassional cold sore.

    Your bigger concern should be hsv2 (genital herpes) or HPV (human papilloma virus). These std’s are INCREDIBLY common, and many people who have them don’t have symptoms. Condoms don’t do much to protect you from these std’s because they are spread by skin to skin contact. So don’t worry too much about kissing – worry about sleeping with people you who you don’t know the sexual history of.
